Letter 1 - Do We Even Want Solutions?
in which i question the “gender critical + anti-woke” positions
“When you get over your bullshit and become genuinely interested in solving problems, it’s overwhelming how obvious it is that most people claiming to do so are not at all interested in solving problems. Entire ideologies built on the rhetoric of improvement and careers dedicated to serving others blatantly do the opposite. Our biggest societal challenge is the lack of collective willingness to see this reality and our involvement in it.” — Salome Sibonex, Twitter
“If you think the right is anti puberty blockers and the left is for them, then you can be forgiven for naïveté. Based on my research, evidence for malpractice & other crimes seems so over the top, that if the right wanted to stop it or investigate they would have. They wouldn’t have sicked a joke bigot governor on it. Think on it.” — Daniel J. Winarick, Twitter
“I truly believe we spend too much time thinking about our feelings.” — ChayaLeah, Wisdom of Crowds
“Gun violence is the number one killer of children and adolescents in American and everyone is freaking out about drag shows.” — Bessel van der Kolk, Boston Trauma Conference
We are starting a new feature - Letters - in which we exchange ideas about the state of progressive gender politics, the anti-woke movement, and the general state of the culture of child rearing and pedagogy, and directions to take. We will talk frankly about the underlying issues as we see them, and share the latest work on being a brain-savvy human + parent. This is the first letter in the series, by me. We hope to start a dialogue, to stimulate constructive conversation and drive solutions-based actions. We welcome genuine thinkers and solution-oriented people into the discussion. What are the issues underlying the current problems facing kids and parents? Can we provide a healthy + compassionate + evidence-based alternative to the SOGI modality of child psychology?
Hi Marika, please stand by whilst I disimpact my brain.
Can we talk? Can we talk about this gender thing? Lately I am seeing familiar things with fresh eyes. When you see a thing you cannot unsee it. That’s where I am at these days with this gender affirmation stuff.
I attended the Boston Trauma Conference last week. Top experts in the field of human behaviour and trauma and somatic experience and neuroscience gathered to share the latest in research and treatment modalities designed + developed to understand people with trauma and help them achieve embodied self awareness. No one spoke about gender identity or gender affirmation. A whole world exists beyond the walls of the SOGI Battlefield, which seems small and contracted and sick by comparison.
I don’t think anyone is coming to save women + children + the gay community. I think everyone has ditched us for the gender bender body modification craze. I think Daniel Winarick is right, if the right wanted to stop the Lupron train of destruction they would, plenty of evidence of malpractice and medical abuse exists. There’s a reason gender affirmation has stuck despite it’s clinical baselessness. Money.
After the David Arthur Kendall scandal came to light, it became crystal clear to me that children, their well-being and safeguarding and their very lives, matter nothing to most of the people in the SOGI battle. Watching the response to Mooncat’s Twitter revelations about Kendall’s history changed everything for me about the “gender critical” movement. Safety only matters when it’s for my narrative. Only the narrative matters. Humans don’t matter unless they are useful to the narrative. I saw no self awareness or self assessment take place. We are too busy caring about child safeguarding to care about a pedo infiltrator, shhhhh, we are doing the work. I see little evidence of emotional intelligence or spiritual intelligence. I see little evidence that strategic planning takes place. Reaction — that’s the name of the game, baby.
Have you noticed how suddenly Muslims are cool + useful now to the anti-woke crowd? Oh, so “the religion of peace” is your friend again, huh anti-wokes? Haha, why aren’t the Muslims standing up with the Christian evangelicals who hate them? Yeah, I don’t know, that’s weird how Muslims don’t seem to want to have anything to do with people who think Max Bernier will be their human rights champion. Muslims aren’t your vassals, anti-woke conservatives.
I don’t think anyone in the SOGI battleground wants to improve society - not the trans activists, not the gender criticals, not the radical feminists, not the anti-woke parents, not the teachers’ unions, nor gender affirmation groupies. If anyone wanted change they would have made it happen by now. People are building gender critical and anti-woke brands + empires to serve their own self interest. We have tee shirts + playing cards + books + podcasts — we have an entire gender critical industry, capitalism baby! We don’t want this to end, we are having to much fun LARPing The War of The Roses to improve the world for children + families. Family values are a thing we talk about not a thing we care about.
And we don’t have improvements in humans rights for female people, lesbians, or children who feel ill at ease inside their bodies. We only have a bunch of attention seeking elites and conservatives talking about stuff. And whinging about how terrible it is in the academy for them and how they are cancelled. Yes, I keep hearing people tell me they are cancelled. Hahahahaha. Okay. You’re cancelled and you are still here, though. LOL. How come I can buy gender wars playing cards and I cannot get the essay on how we won women’s rights back or got a separate trans prison space or replaced SOGI in schools with something more appropriate? I would pay for these essays too! Would people really rather keep on buying playing cards and listening to angry emotionally unstable conservatives and religious fascists + read tweets from disillusioned people who have failing attachments with their kids, than have normal human society restored? Would we really rather keep doing this silly political skit where we complain about our political opponents and then mimic their behaviour?
Top Ten thoughts in my head right now —
Puberty is a human right.
Mass shootings are killing more kids than gender affirmation.
Abortion is repugnant and it’s better than coat hangers and infanticide and orphanages where children get abused.
“Gender Self-ID” for males is a violation of women’s reproductive freedom - women cannot have reproductive choices when males are allowed into our intimate spaces against our will.
Pro birth and pro mass shooting is not pro life.
No one is made to feel more like themselves through endocrine and surgical assault that results in loss of reproductive + sexual function + mastectomy + hysterectomy + genital mutilation.
Gender affirmation is not suicide prophylaxis it’s gay and autistic eugenics.
Guns are killing children not drag queens or pornified library books.
WPATH, EPATH, Egale and all gender organizations are part of the SOGI industry - they all promote the cult of gender and body modification.
Even when they claim to oppose gender and gender affirmation, gender organisations promote the gender cult because they don’t provide an alternative perspective or treatment modality and they reinforce gender ideology.
Major themes covered at the trauma conference —
Maternal withdrawal is a significant predictor of long term negative psychiatry outcomes such as depression and suicide.
Your voice communicates the state of your nervous system to the wider world.
Verbal aggression + abuse create analogous injuries to the neural circuitry and brain over time as do physical aggression + abuse.
People engage in self harm + self destructive behaviours because they do not like how they feel inside their bodies - people who truly accept Self and who can truly feel embodied and Self aware do not have strong impulses to engage in risky or self destructive behaviour.
Feelings are not pathological, they are opportunities + messengers. We need to stop thinking about them and feel them and let them go.
There is one nervous system, there is no mind body dichotomy, normal is a myth.
So, Marika, did BC Dad ever give a fcuk about his kid when he violated that kid’s privacy by disclosing the most private things about mental health history in school? Does Billboard Chris really want to have conversations with people on the street and tell them then what legacy media does not, or does he just want to build his anti-woke Christian evangelical brand? Why is he still using woke language? Why is Elston talking about “puberty blockers” and not Gonadatropin-releasing hormone agonists, and not chemical castration? Good question. Why can’t anti-wokes provide a non-jingoistic definition of woke1? Why do they ignore that question and why do they smart ass their way out of providing a direct answer? Why is child safeguarding only about drag shows and gender diverse books and SOGI curriculum and not about gun control laws or human development and family attachment + systems or reproductive rights? Am I really supposed to believe the GOP cares about safeguarding kids and cares about consent (because they banned gender affirming care) when they treat Dr. Caitlin Bernard like a criminal because she gave a 10 year old rape victim an abortion?
Do we even want solutions? Or is this just collective destruction now?
Looking forward to your response, Marika. [You can read Marika’s response here]
Definition of Wokeism - seeing the world of humanity thru a critical American lens of race-identity-gender and living in the fanatical cult-like imperative to disrupt existing + functioning + natural attachments + boundaries + systems to promote a new world order centring the triune of identity-race-gender. Wokeism is a shame and fear driven and dissociative approach to pedagogy and child development. Wokeism encourages peer orientation, which results in parental alienation.
